Meeting with Dr. Mahmoud Mohi El-Din, Minister of Investment

Dr. Mahmoud Mohi El-Din is the youngest minister in the Egyptian cabinet. We have become good friends. He and his daughter Sohila share a strong interest in archaeology. Sohila is in love with the age of the pharaohs, and she is planning to work with me in my excavations at the Tombs of the Pyramid Builders.

Dr. Mohi El-Din is always keen to preserve the spirit of the past in Egypt’s historic hotels, such as Mena House in Cairo and the Cataract in Aswan, which are being renovated.

One wonderful thing that that he is doing is opening a new television channel, much like National Geographic or the Discovery Channel. I had a great meeting with him recently at Abou Ali at the Hilton, one of my favorite places in Cairo. Elham Abou El-Fatah (from El-Akhbar Newspaper) and Hamdi Rizk (from El-Masry El-Youm Newspaper) joined us.
