Before we proceed, behold the plan of the ancient pyramid, which illustrates the original structure superimposed over the present remnants.
At the top of the modern stairway to the opening on the north face of the pyramid you can peer down its descending passageway. This passageway is approximately 190 feet long and cuts first through the pyramid casing, then finally through the substratum of rock as it pierces into the earth.
