ABOUT ANDREW:

The sound is familiar yet fresh, a blend of funky folk rock that packs a punch. Andrew Bayuk is an imaginative songwriter and talented guitarist whose heartfelt vocals draw you in, with lyrics that keep you wanting more. His style provides a landscape of modern daily life and the political and social issues of our day.

Heavily influenced by the Beatles, John Lennon, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, Andrew's music has an acoustic folk backbone with an electric rock overlay and is laced with accompanying and background harmony vocals.

He has just finished mixing and mastering his second full length CD, "The Dreamer or the Dream", with drummer Rivkah Ross and Producer Gary Bosko. This is NOW AVAILABLE HERE.

Andrew's music has been described:

Andrew's live show consists of two 45 minute sets of all original material.

In addition to his more conventional songs about life and love, Andrew plays songs for peace and for people who still care about our less fortunate fellow citizens, are fed up with the unfettering of big business at the expense of the public, are tired of having our environment compromised so the rich can get richer, are tired of being lied to and led into an illegal war for oil, and still have the dream of a solid decent America that is strong at home and respected around the world. Like many, many people, Andrew does support the troops, but NOT the war.

The song "Smokescreen" is about the Iraq War and "Bullshit" is about Pres. Bush.  "Save the USA" is a cry to politicians to do their job and cut the crap. "Heroes of A Broken War" honors the troops while still decrying the war.

Andrew has a passion for ancient Egypt. Currently he is also working on an EP album which contains songs about various aspects of ancient Egypt. One such song, called "Weighing of the Heart" is on his first CD. Another example debuts on his upcoming second full length CD, this one called "Horus on the Horizon.

Andrew created and maintains one of the original, largest and most comprehensive ancient Egypt websites called Guardian's Egypt.  Here you can explore the pyramids, tombs, temples of Egypt, breaking news, mummies, hieroglyphs, exhibits and much more. He also created and maintains the Official Website of Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Head of the Egyptian Antiquities Department. On this website you can learn all about the ongoing excavations in Egypt, including news about the Great Pyramid, Golden mummies, newly opened tombs and more. Upon a recent visit to Egypt in July 2008, Andrew presented his Egypt songs to Dr. Hawass who embraced the concept and endorsed the project, even personally writing the liner note dedication for that upcoming EP!
